Wie manifestieren sich Phänomene und Praktiken von „Hexerei“ in kulturellen, ökonomischen, politischen, religiösen und wissenschaftlichen Bereichen innerhalb und außerhalb Afrikas? Diese Publikation ist ein Kompendium zu SAVVY Contemporarys Ausstellungsprojekt und diskursivem Programm The Incantation of the Disquieting Muse, kuratiert von Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung und Elena Agudio. The Incantation of the Disquieting Muse ist Teil des African-Futures-Projekt, das vom Goethe-Institut initiiert wurde. Mittels einer Ausstellung und einer Serie von Invokationen betrachtete das Projekt Konzepte von „Hexerei“ als epistemologischen Raum und Medium von Kontinuitäten zwischen dem afrikanischen Kontinent und dessen Diaspora. Die Publikation beinhaltet Essays von Erna Brodber, Seloua Luste Boulbina, Vladimir Lucien, Percy Mabandu, Greg Tate und anderen sowie visuelle Beiträge von Künstlern, u. a. Georges Adéagbo, Haris Epaminonda, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Emeka Ogboh, Priscila Rezende und Minnette Vári.
